Got head junk? No I am not talkin’ lice or dandruff. I am talkin’ noise. The stuff that gets in your way. Self-limiting beliefs.
Well, recently at a One-Day Workshop that I taught, we spent one hour attacking some of the head junk of chiropractors: the stuff that makes us procrastinate, doubt yourself, be indecisive, and commit self-sabotage. Stuff like, “I’m not enough,” or, “Marketing is slimy,” or “I have to fight to be taken seriously,” or “I can’t charge that much.”
What we walked away with is:
- We are the deliverers of the most important healthcare option on the planet.
- We have a moral obligation to promote the heck out of our offices to deliver that healthcare to more people.
- We get upset that the public does not take us seriously, but WE DON”T TAKE OURSELVES seriously.
- We deserve lots of money for what we do.
(Side note: At the One-Day, we talked about mind-blowing examples of what people will spend their money on. For example, just yesterday, I went to the dentist with my son, Max. He had three teeth pulled. It cost $573 dollars and took THREE MINUTES of the doctor’s time. My son’s quality of life was not improved; he was not saved from a lifetime of pain and decreased function. WHAT YOU DO MATTERS TO SO MANY PEOPLE. KNOW THIS. OWN THIS.)
Unlike many of the chiropractic coaching seminars I have gone to, we got A LOT done in eight hours. Once we got our head junk out of the way, We created a strategy for a year of marketing and promotion. We all walked away with a list of ACTION steps. We set up an implementation plan. We drilled down the first days of systems and the secrets behind getting people to say yes to you and what you offer, and pay for it. The feedback was amazing (see below).
