I read a hospital study that said that patients reported a better experience if the nurse offered them a warm blanket while they were on a gurney waiting for surgery.
It made me think of a conversation I repeatedly have with people I coach. They talk about people not showing up for report of findings. This has not been an issue in our office, and I marvel at that as a phenomenon. To be clear, it has actually happened in the almost 30 years that I have been involved in chiropractic, but it is so rare. If people are not coming back for a Day Two in your office, something is very wrong, and you have to pay attention to it, because that is negative marketing. They are leaving unhappy, and you can bet they are sharing it with others. This makes your work for the future of your practice so much harder.
I like to think of the first visit to our office as a warm blanket. We seek to put people at ease about chiropractic from the minute they call the office. Everything we do is gradually building trust. This is referred to in the marketing world as “relationship” or “experiential” marketing.
Another note: when I first began in practice, I did not think like a smart marketer and business person. I ran around frenetically, trying to do TONS of things: screenings, corporate fairs, lectures, business groups. I felt desperate. I acted desperate. My chiropractic coaches, to whom I paid a TON of money, kept telling me to stay on the wheel. It did not work. This way of doing business was not good for me as a woman, as a healer, and as a mom. It made me tired, edgy and resentful. It made me less present with the actual people who WERE in my office. IT WAS NOT SUSTAINABLE.

I teach you to create a high return, low energy output marketing system.
I also spend time on the Day One and Two, because THAT is marketing. These two appointments are the ones people TALK about to others. After they have come to you for years, for various reasons, they share less. They are most likely to talk about you and your office right after these two appointments. So, we like to give them a red carpet experience and WOW them, and we teach YOU how to do that.
